Hail Schedulers!

I couldn't help myself, I didn't ask the person's permission to post it, but I think it just accentuates the efforts our schedulers put towards making our Home run so smoothly. GBT! Here, I present you, the request I received this afternoon from our schedulers:
Sweet Celeste,
You are such a huge blessing and inspiration, the only times that the Lord blesses our Sunday outreach, it seems, is when you are a part of that. In light of this special gift and calling the Lord has given you Mikey painstakingly and desperately needs someone to share his joy of outreach with, his love for the lost with. By the grace of God, I believe you are determined to be that woman this coming Sunday.
The chard fieds will be burning behind you, snow cap mountains will lie before you, and only you and your sword will walk the unbeaten path.
At that point I ask "What am I wearing?" only to realize that was the wrong question and take it back, but yes, in all good spirits:
cream G-string
leather strap boots
and your shield and sword
LOL! :D
Seriously, I needed that laugh, it was awesome, but not over!
Should you choose this mission and the requirements, the doubts will try to knock down your door. The rains of self questioning will try to drown your resolve. - But this is why you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this. The truth is, the gods are envious for we will never be here again. Immortality is yours! - Take it!
How could one say "no" to that?!
(Never mind that I'm not good at using that word anyways, but that's besides the point!!!)

What do you think?

Mig & Esther had a baby girl on the 25th! She's so cute - head full of hair, and pretty in pink! :)

They came back today and we all gathered in their room for what is becoming quite the tradition - opening some bottles of bubbly and toasting to the mommy and baby. It's fun! One conversation led to another and by the end we were doing that thing where you dangle a gold ring by a hair to figure out how many kids people are going to have (or had) in the order, etc. With some folks it was pretty accurate (seeing as we already knew what they had), and at some point they did it on me. I forgot that I had done that test at least twice before, so figured "hey, let me try that", and, well, hey, the ring didn't move.

So I was like "wow - interesting", until I realized that actually, I have had it done at least twice before (hey, I've been up since 3:00am, at the market all day, I have a blistering headache, you can't blame me for not having a dashing memory), and come to think of it, both of those times it said something different. (I believe once it said 2, and another 1) So I now have three tales from three different rings. HA! (We had another guy go from 7 to 8 - so I'm not the only one that seems to get different stories.)

What do you think though? Have you tried it? Have you found that it changes? I know some folks who are in awe at it, and find it precise, but then...well, what are your thoughts? Pray tell!

I (heart) the SSUites!

Yes, I do! :)

They're simply the best, really! They let me crash at their place for a whole week! They didn't talk about work (so that my brains could rest in the Lord a bit more), and they each did super sweet things to make me feel welcome. Like help me find a nickname for Mano...I mean, Mojo! :D They let me feel all "Trekie" with them, told me how I didn't have to feel obliged, but that I should blog about being around them (yes, Naty, that would be you, super-star chick) . Then there were the vigorous walks with the ladies, laughing with the girlies at my static curls as we bounced on the trampoline, trying on fabulous dresses that fit fine but couldn't pass for anything but long shirts (yes, I'm tall) and even driving out to fulfill a craving for cheese cake. - And they even laughed with me when I knocked them off their chairs playing musical chairs. (Sorry!!!)

You guys know how to make me feel at home away from home! - Thanks for having me!!!

A good day!

Call me a softie but those unexpected notes from someone you haven't heard from in a while that thank you for just being a friend and reassuring you of their love, just make my day!

Today was a good day:
  • My mom reassured me she's praying for me (hey, that's good, right?) and that she's praying a good guy comes along that has the talent to distract me from my work (Mua-ha-ha - I love my mommy's reasoning!)
  • My dad sent me a note informing me of an awesome answer to prayer.
  • A friend got in touch to tell me of some uber-cool news that he said he was only telling his family about - so that makes me uber-cool like his family, right? (So happy for you!!!)
  • Another friend told me they loved me and that they'd move to a Home I was in just for me. - Now that's a compliment! ;)
  • And then I got a totally unexpected note (and invite - snicker) from a dear friend, just thanking me for being his friend. - How tender is that?
Ah, appreciation has a way of pouring down on you, and making you feel all giggly inside, doesn't it? Now, to think of what I can do to make others feel as great as I feel...

Finale

This was our last day - Sunday - where I intended to do the souvenir shopping but it didn't quite work out (turns out they close the little market that day - HA!), so instead we roamed the streets with Izgrat, found a few small things that we picked up, and even enjoyed getting to see more sights of town with him explaining what it was (yeah, a tour guide really). He invited us to Mojitos, and in the end I even managed to get a picture with the cops. It's not allowed and one of the cops who I asked (I wanted to get the pic with the motor bike) said "no", quite shocked that I'd be so cheaky as to ask (heh), but these two young men were quite flattered. ;)

We basically danced the night away (I have vids of that, but yeah...heh...special) and ended up sleeping perhaps an hour as we had to catch a SUPER early flight the next morning, but it was so fun. - And that ends our trip to Cuba!
