Christmas fun!

We've already done our gift-opening, so I think part of Christmas is "passed". We haven't had our Christmas dinner yet though, that comes tomorrow night (yum-yum). - So yeigh, more to come.
I'm posting some pics from the "gift-opening" event. We wanted to take a "Home pic", but got a bit carried away with other types of poses (I sure felt sorry for the girls that happened to be walking around with cameras), and in the end, the "Home pic" didn't even come out. Sigh!

Oh well, for what it's worth, here are some fun shots.

ok, so I wanted to feel special...so what?! Actually, after this, lots of other girls got into it too, in fact, the boys got so into it they dragged Esther up there. Ha!

Chris being his usual self...come to think of it, there are quite a few of him in this pose (just different girls). Tsk, tsk, tsk...what is it with men and breasts? :D

Please don't ask me what I'm doing (almost looks like I'm about to do a can-can kick)!

Not sure what's so funny or terrifying all at once - probably having to pose.

I just love this one - Ez is finally caught not making his "I'm super cool" pose. Snicker...

And yes, there are many more, but I'll leave you with that for now. - Good thing we didn't take pics of ourselves later on in the evening when the real party began. ;P

Male drivers - bah!

I finally have something to blog about! - Sad to say!

I was in an accident, with yes, a male driver. Before I start ranting I'm going to thank the Lord that no one actually got hurt, and that we were able to settle the issue and get back home safely, and above all, thank You, Jesus, that our car only got a cracked side mirror, when the other dude's car had a smashed window and dent in his side door. - So yes, I'm so thankful for His protection!

I mean no offence to male drivers here, but the only two accidents I've ever been in my entire driving life (which is 10 years, thank you very much) have been with male drivers. And guess what? Both times it was their fault! The only stupid role I play is being the female brain that I am, and blonde, and...whatever. - They always get away with it.

Someone please knock some sense into me!!

The first accident happened about 4 years ago when some dude was on his mobile phone and hit me from behind when I've been at a full stop for a good 10 to 20 seconds. - Any doubts as to who's fault that was?

This time the dude is overtaking me from the right side of the road!! Hello, we're not in England! Plus, he's not even on the road, he's on the shoulder of the road, and oh, well, he's speeding by so fast, of course the side mirror that he crashes into is going to shatter his glass. - DUH!

The worst bit is that because we were two girls, both Americans with an American vehicle, no cell phone (BIG MISTAKE as we could have had our boys come out and give him some driving lessons!), plus me not speaking enough Spanish to tell the man to actually follow driving rules, and the other girl quite sure that our chances of the insurance company actually giving us the "right" to be paid back as close to non-existent, the dude actually got money off of us.

I am feeling OH SO DUMB!!! :(

At any rate, at least, again, we're all safe. The money he got off of us is not going to even come close to getting him a replaced window, and he'd better not try to come around for more. - I know all the guys in the Home here are ready to meet him with a nice "fork over the funds she gave you and some to pay for our mirror" if he dares, so I just pray my pride isn't too hurt, and that somehow or another the guy gets convicted by what he did. - Hey, one must never lose hope. Right?

Again though, I'm so thankful the Lord protected us. Driving in Mexico is crazy - they rarely even go to driving school. Heh! The angels work double-time with us, and I'm so thankful that in all my years of driving I've never been involved in anything serious. - Only Jesus!

Just for the fun of it though, I'm reminded of an article I read once:

Ananova: http://www.ananova.com/news/
It's official - women are the best drivers

Women drivers are better than men according to the results of one of the biggest ever studies of the driving habits of the two sexes.
The team from the Vienna-based Organisation for Road Safety concluded in its study of thousands of accidents across Europe that "women drive better than men".
Of all road accidents, less than 35% were caused by women.
The study authors also found that in the younger age group the difference was especially marked, as younger male drivers tended to overestimate themselves, while women were more careful.
On average they had 25% fewer accidents.
And in addition to having fewer accidents, those involving females were usually less serious and the injuries usually less as the women had more often than not been driving slower, and more often wore seat belts.

FOUND!!!

Oh, I'm sooooo relieved, my little jewelry/earing/necklace kit was found! - I'm not too much of a scatter brain after all! (And best yet, it wasn't stolen. Whew!)

Seems in my major "stuffing everything people asked me to bring back to Mexico" spree I pushed it under the bed and it was sitting there all nice and snug. Oh well!

Now I just need to make sure I get it back somehow...but yes, I'm so happy I didn't lose it. Yeigh! :D

Back in MEX!

Actually, I've been back in Mexico since Monday evening...

I had a fun time in the US, visa trip is over, as is wanna-be vacation, and though I didn't miss home too much, I'm not complaning. I did have to do major cleaning to my room upon returning, and I'm still unpacking and in the process of "getting back into routines of life", but I have the faith that this room can look nicer.

I still need to get those holes filled in and the wall painted!!!

I decided to "spread the word" that whoever is meant to be my guardian angel for Christmas doesn't need to buy me a present. I just want it to be a guy (gna-ha) so they can actually fill in the holes in my walls and paint it. - That's not asking too much, is it? Sniff... Wish me luck!

Oh, and the travel back, in case anyone was wondering, was fine. I ended up going to the wrong Immigrations line (though here in Mex it seems most people don't know the right way either way, so they assume someone else does, or you perhaps, and let you stand in that line - heh) but I did end up having a cute Mexican Immigrations guard check me that had the exact same B-day (day/month/year) as me. It was so cool - I think that's the first person that I've met (though I didn't find out the hour - I wonder which of us was older). Her name was Valeria, but she still didn't give me a 6 month visa. Sniff... - Even though I tried to get it. (I think she was new at her job and insecure, not wanting to get in trouble. Oh boohoo!)

I got all my luggage in, and now the only distress I'm up against is my little jewelry/earing/necklace kit missing. I don't know where I put it and have a feeling it fell out of my stuff either at the Home I was visiting in SoCal or at the MexCity Home here in Mexico City, but please pray it's found and that I can get it back ASAP. I have so many sentimental things in there that I'd be soooo sad were I to lose it. - I actually went through a majorly discouraged state yesterday when I couldn't find it. Thankfully I'm okay now, but again, please pray I find it.

BTW, don't tease me about this, we all have our special little quirks...and organization and knowing where everything is, having it on hand, is mine. Oh well!

Its prayer day today so I'm out of here...just wanted to make my presence back in Mex known. :)

Ciao!
