Tired!
Yup, that's what I am! - I'm tired. Most of my week sitting in meetings taking notes, coupled with...well, with the usual, and more, has sent my brains to the state of "tiredness". - Which has lead me to do some deep thinking, like wondering what it is that causes you to make so many foolish mistakes when you're tired. - And I don't mean just the "I didn't sleep well last night" type of tiredness, I mean the brain-dead tiredness that you get after trying to keep up with things, but are running out of general energy. I might be original in this (though I doubt it) but when I'm tired I do the strangest things. - Thankfully I have a good sense of humor, and the excuse of those blonde streaks (:D), but seriously, I wonder what the scientific explanation is.
Just a couple examples - I was listening to the song "I don't want to miss a thing" of AeroSmith - I actually really like that song, more than just because I tend to think Ben Affleck is cute, but also because it brings back so many memories. The first memory that pops in my head though is when I first watched the movie "Armageddon". I was in Croatia, the pope at the time was visiting Split, and they had set in place these massive security measures, due to a Nostradamus prophecy that was interpreted to possibly say that the pope would be assassinated on the Adriatic sea on a ship - and lo and behold they had made the pope's podium the shape of a ship - DUH! So yes, they brought in an extra 12,000 police men, etc. (though I always questioned why they didn't just change the shape of his podium), and closed down-town to cars, making our special movie outing rather hard to get to (as the cinema contact was in the center). I was worn out and tired, really tired, which also made me...ummmm...well, foolish isn't quite the word, but for lack of brains to find a better one, I'll use that one. - I was foolish! I had the greatest time watching that movie, I was sitting with two other girls and I was having a ball of a time, making comments about the guys in front of us (all hush-hush, and it didn't seem I was disturbing anyone in the cinema), about the guys in the movie, etc. I didn't think much of it till a week or so later when I'm at a fair trying to provision entrance so we could do outreach, when this young man comes walking up to me all excited to see me "again". - And I couldn't remember him from Adam!
I'm actually quite good with names, faces, etc. but he was totally unknown to me, and I didn't know what to think as he was advertising us to the people in charge, and going on and on about how great we are. (Oh well!) Turns out he was the 2nd fastest runner in Croatia at the time (yeah, I saw him later at the Olympics competing, kind of cool) and was prominent, so the owners were more than fine to let "his friends" in. TTL! He comes back up to me and is going on and on about how he's so pleased to meet us again, at which point I couldn't help myself, and ask him "I'm sorry, I hope this doesn't offend you, but I'm really having a hard time remembering where we met" to which he then says "oh, of course, I saw your face and hair, you didn't see me...I was sitting in front of you at the movie "Armageddon"..." - I must have gone pale or bright red (or both), as he laughed and said that we were great, he was flattered (ahem), etc. Oh dear! I asked him to please go easy on the comments he was making to the owners about us as though that was me during "down-time" I'm also professional during "professional-time" (I guess I work hard, but I play hard too?), and he understood, but boy, did that help me remember to mind my P's and Q's in public. - You never know who is watching and when they'll catch up with you and embarrass you big time.
Then there was yesterday - I went out for some follow-up with Joy, we were all dressed up and I was using M.'s van, which is kinda cool as I feel more "in control" than when I'm in a little car. We're pulling out of our drive-way when this car drives by and the car literally slows down and the men inside were gawking at me. - Which was odd, very odd. (Hello - I might be a white girl, but it's not that original to see them here!) I figure "whatever", but as we're driving down the road I'm noticing I'm getting quite the intense looks from the men in the cars, when I look down and, lo and behold, my shirt is unbuttoned! :D Waa-haa-haa! I laughed, and so did Joy, like DUH, Cel, of course they're gawking, your bra is obvious and your cleavage is ALL there.
Oh well, the Lord does all those things to keep me humble, but He has an easier time pulling them on me when I'm tired.
I found a couple pics of me tired - just to show you how I get.
(Note that the one of me in the blue shirt is me in Croatia several years back after a long night out. Heh - and the one of me in pink is at the 2nd XD, and I was rightfully worn out.)
So yes, all that to say, busy times, I'm tired, but I'm excited too. I'm going to the Benefit dinner Wednesday night. Yay! :) - And I'm also going out witnessing tomorrow afternoon. - Pray it goes super well and that I don't bare my cleavage to all again, or go spilling people's drinks and breaking their glasses (as I did a few weeks ago when my hair got caught - yikes - it's getting that long). Thanks!
Have a fun weekend!

Lol! Those are great stories, Cel. Good reminder about watching what we say in public during our "off times". Oh and you look lovely even when you're tired! xxx
