It was COOOOOL!!!

Yes, yesterday was the 5th of December, and sure enough, I got to go to the Andrea Bocelli concert! :D
It was cool - I honestly don't care for opera, but Andrea Bocelli makes it just awesome, not to mention that his many other songs are beautiful. - I find him to be a truly gifted man, a male version of "Fanny Crosby"; not having his sight hasn't hindered him from using his gift.
As for the details of the event, there are plenty!!! First of all I was waiting to be picked up for like, ummm...about 3 hours! We had plans to have dinner first, hoping to make it to the auditorium by 8:30...yeah right! Genai, Adolfo and Jorge got stuck in traffic (of course! - we live in Mexico City after all!!!), and they didn't get to my place till 8:20!! Everyone kept worrying for me when they saw me still home. Ha! When they finally arrived we literally flew down the Periferico! Thang God the traffic wasn't that bad for that stretch (other than getting into the auditorium parking), but yes, needless to say I ended up strapping myself in (I was in the back) and holding on for dear life. :D
There was talk of whether it would start with Mexican punctuality (seeing as we are in Mexico), Italian punctuality (considering Andrea Bocelli IS Italian after all), or US punctuality (don't ask me why they came into the picture), as if it started with US punctuality we would possibly miss a bit of it, if it started with Italian punctuality we had like 5 or 10 minutes to spare, and if it started with Mexican...well, let's just say we'd be TOTALLY fine. Ha! We made it 2 minutes before 9:00 (after looking for parking, and the right seating door) and in the end they started with Italian punctuality - so we were able to find our seats, get comfortable, and not miss a thing! YEIGH!
Turns out they do not allow you to take your camera in (sniff) so though I still snuck it in (you didn't think I'd really not take it, did you?) I didn't take any pictures during the show as I did NOT want to be dragged out nor have the camera confiscated. I did manage a couple shots during the half-time interval, but they're not the greatest. SUPER SORRY!
It was a great show though, and I have to say, after Andrea himself, my favorite was the Orchestra director (whose name I can't remember or find at the moment), who was all together lively, entertaining, and even humorous!
The best part of the show was when Andrea changed his smoking to a white one (rather than the black one), announcing he changed in order to change the mood as well. He then went on to sing some songs from his album "Amore", most of which are songs in Spanish, so that was a HUGE hit with the Mexican public. He also sang some of his good ol' songs, such as "The Prayer" (though the American woman singing with him really didn't do the song the subject justice), and others, finally ending with "Time to say goodbye", sung with the soprano Aylin Perez, who actually did a fairly good job.
After the show Genai and I tried to get back-stage, but they wouldn't let us. Sniff! I think I disappointed Genai, she wanted to distract the guard so I could run in, but yeah, they were filming and all, I don't think I'd want to be on the news for doing something like that. :D Genai's other plot was to perhaps fling herself in front of the car to get the chaffeur to stop so we could give him the CD "Huellas", but that was also dropped, so we ended up passing it on to one of his staff members. - I sure pray he gets it and listens to it.
It was midnight by then, and we were STARVING! (Remember? We didn't eat before going as we were late...) so we went to a good Taco place (something to do with 2 frogs, I forget) and had a good dinner - though I'm not sure that's really what you call a meal at 1:00 am. :D
And finally Home sweet Home at 1:30...
It was a memorable event though, I'm so happy I was able to benefit of such coolness. Yeigh! Jesus is so good to me!

PTL that He got you in before the show started and for making one of Andrea's staff accept your wonderful gift. TYJ!

Just a thot, but maybe Jesus didn't want you to go to that restaurant because the chef had accidently spilled lamb juice on what you would have ordered to eat! So Jesus allowed your friends car to get stuck in traffic, to protect you from getting ill again. The Lord always has a good reason for upsetting a plan so let's thank Him.

You're funny sometimes Pete. :D

And sure, Kathy, will give Genai your love.

Ange, nice to see you around again - and yes, he sang "Vivo per Lei" as well, with that American lady, who TRIED (ahem) to sing the second part in Spanish...oh well, at least she tried. - He did wonderfully though, as usual.

And Dan...it was. ;)
