Me again
It's been a while since I posted...you don't want to know how crazy it's been around here though, but I think I can say we survived, and that even though the true race has just begun, it's going to be cool.
We had a super cool appreciation afternoon the other day - played "capture the flag" with water balloons. I actually managed to outrun those chasing me and capture the flag. HA! The balloon hit my chest but bounced off my bubs...now that was funny! (The balloon had to burst and get you wet in order to count.) I hear they caught it on video, I wonder if the "bouncing" part was there too, or just the running. :)
We then had a fun dance night too. I was contemplating how we're probably one of the only Homes around that can have a dance night with just our Home members. - We have such a fun bunch though, and yes, it's official, we're now the biggest Home in the Family...geez! We did the broom dance (you know, where everyone is dancing in couples, one person is the odd one out, and they have to try to grab your partner as you all swap partners - when the music stops - so as to not dance with the broom). After 6 people were caught with the broom they were meant to do a presentation - when I heard that I knew the broom was going to get stuck with me. And sure enough, though I was the last one, I got the broom. Ha! We had to do a bit of a dance to "Shake your little tail" with paper towels as our tails...well, it was fun, tops came off, and yes, we had a good time.
That was last week though, at the moment I'm sitting at my desk praying real hard that this back ache will go away - I think I'm addicted to workout, I drove all day yesterday (yes, me and the airport are getting to know eachother quite well - I did two trips, and with Mexico City traffic that means I was Home a good hour - only - before heading out again, and getting back at midnight) so didn't get any exercize (other than walking and standing while waiting at the arrivals section for hours) and pulled a muscle or something this morning...I was literally in tears while laying on the hard(er) floor. Goodness!
I took the time to pray about it though and it seems that's the only way the Lord was able to get me to slow down. Today was my WnR and I don't think people even knew it until I stuck the little "WnR" slip on my door. I had people coming to ask me things, I was going to go out to get some stuff, try to fix someone's computer (as if I'm reallly that good - HA!), phones ringing, etc. but I've been so tired lately with all that's going on, so I guess my state showed people that I really couldn't keep running around doing things for them, so I got a "hot cat", lay in bed, listened to some nice GNs read aloud, had Word time, took a nap, and didn't move for like 3 hours. It's funny how pain will totally knock me for a loop. - The usual "active-running-around-answering-tons-of-questions-directing-things" personality is gone! G-O-N-E! Talk about opposites...
Please pray for me though if you see this - I need to be back to the "active-running-around-answering-tons-of-questions-directing-things" personality by tomorrow morning as there's just too much going on for me to be able to pull out at this time. - Good thing I got it on my WnR.
