I'm back!

Yes, I made it to Veracruz, and back! - It was fun, but alas, I don't have too many pics to show for it. - Super sorry! I will post a few though, just to tell the story.

It was enjoyable though, the folks are great, and the stay way too short. :)

I really admire them actually, it's sooooooooo humid there (yuck!) it does not promote affection (though it seems it doesn't stop the locals - I noticed a few rather young teenage girls around town with big bellies - ahem). Of course you have to take tons of showers, and when you're not warding off the beads of sweat you're using the last few brain cells to dodge the hordes of mosquitoes. I already have a tendency to attract mosquitoes (the cloud will always follow me) but this was really, reallly nasty! - I'm not even going to count the bites I got.

But again, it was a nice stay and a much needed break - and I got to see more of Mexico. Yippiee!

Here are some pics...

Dove and I on the bus to the bus station. - Claire is the photographer. We had to throw our stuff together and on to that bus due to the mix-up with "when" we were meant to meat up with our travel partners. All is well that ends well though and aside from the TOTAL miracle of meeting with Rafe and those he was picking up at the airport, we got tons of help from the sweet Mexicans who obviously felt we looked rather helpless. (Which we were!)

Please don't laugh! - It was windy and I just wanted a pic to show my super cool braids. I finally did it...Fun!

One of the activities the Home had while we were there. - A real neat idea (called "Roll the Gold") which I shall have to steal for one of our Home Activities. I think the best part of this pic is my look of utter accomplishment at counting/handing out the beans (a.k.a. points). Don't ask, please - I was feeling useful!

Claire having a fun time on Fero's shoulders while trying to entertain herself at the town square. - And Robo in the background grinning about it. I must say, considering the music was sooooo sucky (and I mean SOOOOOO sucky) it was funny too. Picture a "wanna-be-blonde" Cuban girl jaunting around the stage trying to do "country-rap" in a cowboy outfit. - NO, that just does NOT work! Sigh... The only thing that seems to have kept people from throwing rotten veggies at her was the fact she shook her ass a lot. - Oh well! Of course, considering they had some sort of celebrities up there before her showing their asses and chests (okay, I admit some of the chests were VERY nice, but the majority were SCARY) you can't totally blame her for trying seeing as it wasn't a bad ass after all. ;)

Adorably sweet Vanessa at the restaurant we went out to the last night there. - Thanks again Melissa for taking Dove, Vanessa and I out! And good news! - I didn't get sick from the shrimp. Yeigh! I know, I know, she takes us to a fish restaurant and I'm allergic to fish. Sigh...what a pity! - The shrimp was delicious though. Yum!

And so ends the Veracruz tale...now it's back to work, deadlines, and...well, no, I'm NOT complaining, I had a good time and it was great. And I'm actually happy to be back in my own bed, my nice room, desk, with cool weather. TTL!
