Back in touch!
I haven't written much over the past few days but I'm NOT going to feel guilty about it. I will not become obsessed with this blog to the point of feeling like a "Dear Diary" priss. :)
I think that's what I'm worried about...
Having said that, life seems to be going back to "normal" somewhat in that the meetings ended, folks having returned to their homes, and though our property feels a wee bit empty (due to folks on visa trips too, etc.) it's conducive to work and I've started wading through the hundreds of e-mails in my inbox. – Please pray for me!!!
As to the most outstanding events over the last few days I think our last BBQ night was the funnest. The food was delicious (it usually is - especially when it's served at 9:30 and you haven't eaten since lunch - but it was super good regardless - TX to those who put soooo much into it), we had fun fellowship and the newly fixed up BBQ area was a major hit. - Especially the poles. Snicker...
I know someone here who is going to squeal if I start making names so I'll be good and just say that "us girls" TRIED to keep up with the boys and their "pole antics" (can't call it a pole dance, sorry). We will have to keep practicing if we ever wanna make an impression, for now we were left with bruises (I know myself and...yes, her too...got one), plus majorly strained and achy arms from the jumping on the pole. HA! It was fun though...
To add to that the last few mornings have been somewhat "rude awakenings" for me, being that yesterday morning I found a scorpion in the basin in our shower stall, so I drowned it (gna-ha). I'd say I'm definitely getting much better at this, considering my reaction the first time I found a baby scorpion on my bed - actually, on my clean bra that I brought in from the laundry – was to call in one of our handymen who enjoyed the whole "taking Cel's bra and making sure there were no scorpions in it" side of life (Hey, baby scorpions have just as much poison as grown up ones, so there!!).
Then this morning there was a massive "something" in the room (I'd call it a beetle, but it was too big to be that, and it looked very, very strange - the body was the size of a ping-pong ball and the head incredibly small in proportion with these wiry antennas poking out). I heroically got rid of it...by sticking it in a box and putting in our bathroom garbage bin. I'm sure hoping that our boys emptied the garbage before he got out...otherwise Ez might be right, I might just find it haunting me again tomorrow morning. (Oh NO!!!)
I'm starting to feel like "Jane" around here! Next thing you know I'll find myself a super-duper cool Tarzan/Jane outfit and start running around killing all the bugs/scorpions/what-have-you’s. - Quite the challenge. Before I get into a Jane suit though I have to come up with a fairy outfit for Naty's B-day...it's coming up somewhat soon and I promised I'd wear a fairy outfit JUST for her. :) Anyone have any ideas?
