"Show me a special something--something that is important or beautiful or meaningful or full of memories for you--or all of that--and tell me about it. Absolutely anything!! Take a photo of it! =D"
How fun! - Until I realized I had so many things that mean something to me, so many memories, I didn't know where to start! So I settled for these two - one is an all time memory and feeling I doubt I'll ever lose, and the other is more recent, so here we go...
The more recent one: A coral necklace that Juan and Ange bought me one rest day earlier last year. I don't know what inspired them to get it, I just know we were looking at necklaces and before I realized what they were doing they had bought it for me. (Call me dense, but I don't assume that just because someone is asking how you like something that it means they'll get it for you.) It's not so much the necklace that means that much to me though as much as the thought - and this necklace reminds me just how outgoing, loving and caring Juan and Ange are. They opted to buy it for no particular reason (that I know of), yet they're just like that; they reach out to all, they think of ways to include everyone and to do things that show love to others, they're just such a sweet sample to me of people who draw the circle that brings you in. - I can't help but treasure the way they showed it to me. If you see this guys, thanks again! ;)
Seriously though, I just realized that I'm well into my 10th year of full-time secretarial...almost 10 years since I forsook the land I thought I'd spend the rest of my life in. - I was convinced I didn't want to leave that place, and yes, I even wanted to marry a Croatian (Dalmatian) man! (I still haven't given up on that!-Snicker...) Incredible how our roads can turn out so different that what we think we want. Oh well...
And yes, Croatia! Sigh...
This is a postcard I bought ages ago when visiting Croatia as it has so many shots of its beauties in one. I keep it on my desk and will stare at it every once in a while (good eye exercises). - I still miss it! When I moved to Croatia I was eager to find a place to really dig my teeth into. I knew of all these older adults who had found the land they loved and wanted to grow old in, and I wished for that feeling. - A passion for a place (I don't know, similar to those olden days missionaries perhaps?). The path that lead me to move to Croatia was in no way an easy one, and it was more of a "fine, I'll go there for now" option, but I found that it was the best time of my life in so many ways. - It wasn't necessarily easy or peachy or anything of that sort, but it was fulfilling, it was just what I needed to stretch those faith muscles of mine, and to top it off the men were just downright hot and sexy! :D - Just kidding (though they are)! There are a million and one memories in that picture alone...I could write a book about it.Seriously though, I just realized that I'm well into my 10th year of full-time secretarial...almost 10 years since I forsook the land I thought I'd spend the rest of my life in. - I was convinced I didn't want to leave that place, and yes, I even wanted to marry a Croatian (Dalmatian) man! I thought Luca Toni is Italian... ;)
Just realized and thought I would point out that agian we blogged the same topic same day. What are the odds? You know they say "the third times the charm."
You want to tell me dear Cel and Gabe that your topic wasn't prearranged for you both to blog about? wow :o)) COOL!
And Cel a share your sentiments about finding that place where you want to live and die for. I don't think I've ever felt I have that place. So I just want to do my best daily to reach out to those I meet daily. BTW Boran sends his love....but you already know that. :o)Kathy
LOL - yes, Gabe, Luca Toni is Italian, so I'd settle for him "if I have to". (LOL!)
But yeah, cool we blogged the same thing on the same day - we did have Crazygurl tag us both, so I guess that was orchestrated Kathy! - Though when (as in, what day) is a coincidence.
I have to get Boran's e-mail and catch up with him...just been in touch via snail-mail these last two years. I know you said you're not responsible for your husband, Kathy, but do ensure Rafe behaves as far as what he demands for the cost of it. ;)
...well if he didn't give you Boran's e-mail address yet just let me know! As Rafe claims to have a good memory, but very short lived one! And about the cost and his demand ...I have faith in you Cel...I know you can defend yourself! :O))))) Kathy
That was so sweet of you to say, Cel!
WLY!
Love, J/A XO!
