Heroes!!!

My day didn’t really start off too well…I was on breakfast with someone, but that someone didn’t show up till 15 minutes before breakfast was meant to be served (after I went to get 'em)…I was meant to make oatmeal and I couldn’t find any…the papaya I was meant to serve out was the “over-ripe” type that takes major work cutting out all the bad parts…and I don’t even like papaya. :(

Anyways, all is well that ends well and breakfast was on time. (Whew!)

I think the highlight though was our boys and their heorism. One of the guys caught a mouse running past our dish line (ick!) so out come the brooms, buckets and…well, whatever they could get their hands on. They trapped it under a bucket and…yeah, that was the end of the mouse. It was a whole ceremony though – between war-whoops, feet stomping, etc. all that was missing was their faces painted and the little loin cloths. Heh! (Note to self: I’ll have to remember to bring loin-cloths so the boys can do things right.)

You’ve gotta love the “post-mouse-killing” time though…it seems all the tales from years gone by come to life yet again as everyone competes to tell the yuckiest tale. – Not that I mind (seeing as I have plenty of my own - ahem) our dear JETT girl was rather grossed out though. HA! I do pride myself in managing to come up with a totally different topic though, to distract our boys from their “mouse-killing” tales. There’s nothing like knowing how to manipulate a man’s mind. Snicker… You ask what the topic was? I’m sure I needn’t tell you. (wink)

Oh, and good news! Tonight we party!!! The boys have worked hard, the girls have too, and hopefully our deadline for those roofs is met. The girls are meant to do something for the guys, and the guys for the girls. Fun-fun-fun! :D

I shall see if we can gather some pics for all you who can’t attend…

You wanna hear a mouse story, Luchi? Heh…I think you’d miss half (if not more) of the fun without my antics and gesticulations. I’ll have to save it for when I meet you. ;-)

And yes, Amy - I still need to visit. Sigh...
