Here we go!

Alrighty, I figured it was high time I start posting about my latest Italy/Hungary/US trip! Today’s my day off and other than listening to lots of Word while I set up my room, reorganize clothes, etc. I thought it would be a great chance to catch you up with things. – Plus, this blog’s been rather silent, so here we go!

Italy – Part 1

My trip began at a nice ungodly hour of 4:00 AM – getting driven to the airport, checking in, and flying through good ol’ New York with a 7 hour stop-over. With the “no gel/liquid solutions, etc.” rule in place I was so thankful for that stopover and the capability to pick up my bags (snicker) and wash off in the ladies room. I definitely got some looks from those coming in to the bathroom when they saw me in my bra washing off. HA! I can’t believe they don’t have a shower in that airport, but whatever, I made do.
Most folks would have probably enjoyed going out to see some NY sites, and I was tempted, to be honest, however sightseeing has NEVER been something I’ve been that good at, and definitely not alone, so I dropped that idea without too many second thoughts. – Instead I enjoyed some good American food at Chili’s, did a few hours of work (gotta love wireless in airports too, talk about a good opportunity to redeem the time), and roamed around the airport.

The flight to Rome was smooth, thankfully they let me take my contact lens case on (it was an overnight flight), and though I didn’t really sleep, hey, keeping your eyes shut is a good thing and I might have caught a few “zzzs” here and there. :)
I landed in Rome, got all my luggage (one suitcase - lol) and made my way to Civitavecchia by train. I had already booked my ticket online (for the ferry crossing), but thanks to some special computer issues they couldn't print my ticket out (I had to get it confirmed after proof of ID, as being a resident I get a discount) until the last 15 minutes. I did meet a super sweet girl though and had a great time witnessing to her.
There was a shower in the harbor’s mini mall area, but it was locked. - Go figure! I was dying to shower, but thankfully I managed to do it on the ferry! Ah – blissful! The crossing was smooth, I actually rested a bit, and though it’s meant to be a 5 hour trip, due to the major “traffic” at the harbor in Sardegna, we waited for about 2 hours right outside the harbor waiting for one of the docks to clear.

At any rate, thankfully I arrived, eventually. My dad was waiting for me, told me I looked like I needed to eat some good Italian food to not look as bad as I did (HA! - What do you expect after over 24 hours of traveling? Imagine if I hadn't showered on the ferry!). We had a lovely apartment all ready and set up for us to be able to stay at. - Two rooms, two bathrooms, kitchen/dining room/living room area…and right by the beach. – How much better can it be? It was sooo special! TTL for His supply!

Here are some pics of our apartment, neighborhood, town, and the view!
